Introduction to International Quit&Win 2004


International Quit&Win 2004 is a smoking cessation competition which will be held in May 2004 in some 100 countries world wide. For more information about Quit&Win in your country please contact your country Quit&Win organizer (=List of countries organizing Quit&Win 2004.)

Adult daily smokers (and other tobacco users) who have smoked for at least one year can take part in the contest. They try to abstain from smoking and using tobacco products for a four-week period, from May 2 to 29. If you want to know more about the international Quit&Win rules, please click here.
The National Public Health Institute (KTL), Finland, has coordinated international Quit&Win campaigns every other year since 1994 in collaboration with the World Health Organization. The number of smokers participating in Quit&Win has rapidly grown from 60 000 in 1994 to nearly 700 000 in 2002. The next International Quit&Win campaign will be organized in 2004 with the target of involving up to one million tobacco users in 100 countries from all continents.
