Criteria for participation

a) Countries
Quit&Win 2004 is open for all countries. Within the countries a collaborative coalition is encouraged for the implementation of the campaign. An endorsement/support by the ministry of health is greatly encouraged. The participating country should appoint a national contact person who will receive information and materials from the International Quit&Win Coordinating Centre.

b) Participants
The criteria for participation is at least 18 years of age, current daily smoking or other tobacco use and history of daily tobacco use of at least one year before the start of the competition. Those eligible for prices are the registered participants (registered May 2, latest) who have completely abstained from tobacco use for at least four weeks after the quit date. Each participating country will arrange its own main prize and possible other prizes. In addition, there will be international super prizes.
