Evaluation

A one-year follow-up study to assess the abstinence rates and to evaluate the campaign should be carried out by the participating countries.

The international recommendation is a random sample of at least 1000 registrants in each country that should be surveyed one year after the campaign, i.e. May 2005. In case of small number of registrants or limited resources, a follow-up could be made with a smaller sample, but not less than 300 registrants. The sample size can be increased according to local needs.

The detailed procedure and core contents (questionnaire) of the follow-up will be described in the Quit&Win organizers Handbook. Qualitative analysis on campaign processes will be carried out as well.
